Lake Richland Chambers Striped Bass are more active during the fall, winter and spring months due to the cooler weather. Lake fish are active much longer during daylight hours and are normally found in shallow water early morning and late afternoon.
Surface area is 41,356 acres. Maximum depth is 75 feet Lake Amistad was impounded in 1987 Conservation Pool Elevation is 314 feet Lake Fluctuation: Depends on area rainfall. Annual fluctuations can be as much as 3 feet. Normal Clarity is Cloudy to Moderately Clear.
Known for it's excellent catfish, crappie and striped bass fishing. Fisherman come from far and wide to fish Richland Chambers. Bass fishing is only fair on this lake. But on the whole it makes the perfect fishing trip for the whole family.

On Lake Falcon the water is stained at this time and the water temp is around 63 degrees F. The Black bass are good on Brush Hogs in watermelon red 6", and spinnerbaits. The Striped bass are slow at this time. but the Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. The Channel catfish and blue catfish are good on stinkbait, frozen shrimp, or cut bait. Everyone must have a Mexican fishing license on the Mexico side, fishing or not.

On Lake Amistad the water is clear at this writing and 55 degrees F; It is about 2. feet low with little change in sight. The Largemouth bass are good on jerkbaits, crankbaits, jigs and soft plastics. The striped bass are only fair on small crankbaits, slabs, and live minnows. The latest Fishing Report indicates that white bass are good on small crankbaits, and minnows. Crappie fishing is fair with minnows around Devil's River in the trees. The Catfish are fair on shrimp, cheesebait, and night crawlers in a baited hole. Use trotlines baited with perch for Yellow catfish. Everyone must have a Mexico license if you are fishing on the Mexico side.

Lake Lavon, Fishing Report. Lake Lavon is located near Wylie Texas just off Hwy 78 in Collin County just N.E. of Dallas Texas. It has a surface area of approximately 21,400 acres, with a depth of 59 ft. Lake Lavon was created in 1953 and expanded in 1974 which nearly doubled it's size. The pool level is 492 ft. with a moderate annual fluctuation. The water clarity is greenish in color with good visibility. According to the latest Lake Lavon, Fishing, update, vegetation on Lake Lavon is very sparse with a little pondweed and some coontail along the shore. The main fish species on Lake Lavon are Black Bass, which is rated good fishing, followed by catfish which is also rated good and crappie fishing, which is excellent. White bass on Lake Lavon are good, striped bass are only fair, with sunfish being excellent. Lake Lavon is known for it's spring and winter Crappie fishing. Standing timber is the main structure, mainly on the north end of the lake near the Trinity River area and Grove Creek area. Check for grass in the back of coves. If you see any cattail out in the water, check it out for a few fish. The electric plant can attract fish in the cooler months when water temperature falls below the fish comfort level. This can be some good fishing near the dam. In the cooler months Lake Lavon, Fishing for crappie are schooling on the south shore in deeper water structure. They go to shallow water in the spring and this makes for some good crappie angling. Try minnows and jigs for this species. Lake Lavon, Fishing update says the Black Bass are active mostly in the spring when they spawn in shallow water. Try Carolina lizards in the 6 inch range and Texas worms and crankbaits. At the beginning of the cold months, try crawfish colored cranks or spinner baits in white. It has 29,592 acres of water with a fluctuation average of 4 to 8 ft annually and a pool level of 522 ft. It covers Denton County Texas. Predominant Fish Species Largemouth bass Spotted bass White & hybrid striped bass White crappie Blue & channel catfish There are 20 RV Parks and Marinas on Lake Lewisville scattered throughout the lake. Most offer a boat launches and RV spaces with RV hookups. Many also offer annual rates which is popular in the winter months.  | | | Largemouth bass are by far the most popular fish species on Lake Conroe Texas. While not plentiful, large bass have been caught, with the lake record of 14.1 lbs in 1997. Lake Conroe is located in Montgomery county Texas, approximately 40 miles north of Houston Texas on I-45. Impounded in 1973, Lake Conroe has an area of 20,118 acres with a pool level of 201 ft msl and a fluctuation of 1 to 3 ft a year. Water is clear to algal stained. Fish species are, Largemouth bass Bluegill Channel catfish White & hybrid striped bass. Lake Conroe has mostly open water in the lower part of the lake, with timber along the river channel in the northern part of the lake. Most of the timber is submerged at pool level, making it hazardous in some parts of the lake. There are plentiful boat docks along the shore on the lower lake with the northern lake is primarily sparse. Some plants are on the shoreline but it is mostly bare. Tips & Tactics Largemouth bass can be taken in shallower water, around boat docks and marinas, in the early spring to late fall. In other months, bass are in deeper cover. Try using shad colored lures such as Super Flukes or other soft plastics. Striped Bass are becoming more popular on Lake Conroe because they can be caught any time of the year. Try open water on the lake using live shad or a jigging spoon. In the spring spawning season, try river channels as they are feeding on white bass schools. Channel catfish can be caught all year along the shore in about 8 ft of water. Target Rip-Rap shorelines using worms or crickets. The dam is located in Polk and San Jacinto counties, just west of Livingston Texas and approximately 50 miles north of the city of Houston Texas. Lake Livingston has approximately 90,000 acres with a maximum depth of 77 feet.
Normal Pool level is 131 ft. msl with a fluctuation of about 1-2 feet per year. The water clarity is moderate to highly turbid.
Lake Livingston Vegetation: Native plants are few and are mostly found in the north part of the Lake Livingston with some vegetation located in the coves. Floating water hyacinth is found over the entire lake.
Lake Livingston is known for its white bass fishing. The white bass are plentiful and are above normal sizes. The catfish are channel and blue catfish. Where habitat is available Largemouth bass and Crappie can be caught but are less plentiful than on most Texas lakes.
Lake Livingston Fishing Tips: Mostly caught in the early spring, White bass can be found in the many creeks on Lake Livingston. Try the 190 bridge for Striped Bass, with trolling and jigging spoons being your best option, also try live shad. Largemouth bass can be caught in the creeks, from Kickapoo northward. Fish Spring and fall for largemouths. Lake Livingston has Channel catfish and blues which can be caught throughout the year on live baits in the main river channel and in creeks.
